Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

A chronic condition including attention difficulty, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness, ADHD begins in childhood and can persist into adulthood. It may contribute to low self-esteem, troubled relationships, and difficulty at school or work.

  • Screening and Assessments
  • Coaching for school and work (strategies for optimizing performance and attention)
  • Psychoeducational evaluations as indicated for learning disabilities and ADHD
  • Post-evaluation counseling sessions to explain diagnosis and recommend solutions
  • Referrals for psychiatry services (e.g., medication management) as indicated

Cost: FREE (no age limits for Stanford students)

ADHD at SHC

  • Diagnostic assessments
  • Medication initiation and adjustment
  • ADHD at SHC may refer to SLC@CHC for further support as indicated

  • Diagnostic Evaluations
  • Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for ADHD
  • Group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for ADHD (next group starts November 2022)
  • Executive Functioning Skills Training

Counseling and Psychological Services

(CAPS)

  • Assessment of students who have a prior diagnosis of ADHD, after completing the CAPS Protocol 
  • Medication management

Cost for follow up medication visits:
$25 co-pay with Cardinal Care
Pay out of pocket without Cardinal Care

Community Providers

  • Therapy and/or medication visits with California providers off campus (including telemedicine).
