Vaden’s Travel Clinic provides you with pre-travel consultation specific to your health history, destination, potential activities, and the health and safety issues of the destination. Our goal is to help you stay safe and healthy during your trip so you can enjoy your experience to the fullest extent. We can also help coordinate a Medical Services evaluation for travelers with self-identified risk factors and/or disease symptoms. There is a consultation fee, and immunizations are charged separately.

Staff

The clinic is staffed by nurses certified in travel health by the International Society of Travel Medicine and nurses specializing in travel health. For additional information see the Medical Services Staff page.

Scheduling an Appointment

Hours vary. Students may book a Travel Health Services appointment through the VadenPatient portal, or by calling 650.498.2336 ext. 1, during regular business hours.

When to Schedule an Appointment

Schedule your appointment at least four to six weeks before departure to allow enough time to receive the recommended vaccinations. Travelers with identified risk factors and/or disease symptoms should make an appointment in Medical Services for a pre-travel assessment.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Bring your immunization record and/or your International Certificate of Vaccination (the “yellow card”) with you. Having a complete and current immunization record can help reduce the expense of receiving unnecessary immunizations.

Complete our travel health history questionnaire on VadenPatient prior to your appointment, or print out and complete the form and bring it with you to the appointment.

Cancellation and No-Show Policy

Up to one hour is reserved for your appointment. There is a no-show charge for patients who cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice or who do not show up for their scheduled appointment.

Eligibility and Cost

Stanford students and their spouses/partners are eligible to use the Travel Clinic. Faculty, staff, are alumni are eligible and may schedule an appointment on a space available basis. There is a consultation fee for students and for non-students. Immunizations are charged separately.

Outside Travel Clinics

Although we try to accommodate all requests for appointments, at times the demand is so great that we refer clients to the Travel Medicine Clinic at Stanford Hospital & Clinics or to other
