Internship Program Admissions

The following minimum qualifications must be met in order for applicants to be considered for the CAPS Internship in Health Service Psychology at Stanford University:

  1. Current enrollment in an APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  2. The successful completion of all required coursework, comprehensive exams, and supervised practica.
  3. A minimum of 450 direct contact intervention hours at the time of application deadline.
  4. Verification of internship readiness by academic Training Director.

Describe any other required minimum criteria used to screen applicants:

  1. Favorable consideration will be given to applicants who will have completed or have made substantial progress towards completion of their dissertation.
  2. Applicants with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic setting with a wide range of clinical diagnoses from developmental concerns to moderate/severe psychopathology are preferred.
  3. Applicants must demonstrate an interest and experience working with a full range of diversity variables, comfort with brief therapy, crisis intervention/on-call services, and outreach programming.
