Outreach Philosphy
Our outreach philosophy is based on a community health model of care that advocates for mental health and well-being resources to be equitably accessible to all members of a community. Directly serving Stanford communities through outreach is an integral part of our mission, and the reason we dedicate our resources to supporting communities' well-being.
We both recognize and embrace the diverse histories, needs, and aspirations of our student communities. We are strongly dedicated to supporting the needs of all students, especially students from underrepresented and marginalized communities whose needs may be met by community-based, collectivistic healing modalities. We serve our communities in varied ways, empowering them to build sustainable community well-being and capacities.
We work with you—students, or faculty and staff—to customize well-being trainings to your needs. We can facilitate a wide variety of topics, including helping a student/friend who is struggling, intuitive eating, moving through grief and loss, avoiding burnout, self-compassion, and navigating mental health and well-being resources at Stanford. Community leader’s are some of the most influential people in the well-being of their community members. WARM is an ever growing collection of trainings, designed specifically for student, staff, and faculty community leaders, that offers a deeper exploration of topics such as building community well-being, and responding to students in need of support. Our team will build a workshop tailored to your needs as community leaders, whether you’re leading a student group, you’re an RA or CA, lab leader, or captain of an athletic team. Request a WARM training through our Outreach Request Form. Access the Outreach Request Form here
