Ever find yourself thinking, “does anyone have programming for Sophomores?”  Health Promotion Services provides engaging workshops and programs geared for students navigating that infamous second year of college.

The HOW of Happiness

This is not you average talk on happiness.  Learn how managing your emotions can play a significant role in your entire college career.  This is the stuff we should have told you freshman year!

Why I Want What I Can’t Have:

Frustration Games in Romantic Relationships—Games that keep us from getting what we may truly want/need from relationships. And conversely influence us to want/need things that aren't good for us.

Blame it on the A-A-A-A-A-Alcohol:

Why We Use Alcohol in Sexual Situations—Did your story from the weekend end up on TextsFromLastNight?  Let’s talk about how alcohol is used as social lubricant.

Studs, Sluts, Virgins and Wimps:

How Gender Roles Affect Sexual Health and Everything Else—Relying on the expertise found in the experiences of the audience, this workshop utilizes interactive discussion to explore the effects of gender ideologies on an individual’s sexual health. Time permitting, we will draw links between this powerful and pervasive system/culture and health issues including: healthy relationships, HIV and other STDs, unwanted pregnancy, relationship violence, body image and eating disorders, alcohol and other drug use, sexual assault, hazing, etc. This workshop is crucial for those planning and implementing sexual health programs.

I Live in Suites…What Do I Eat?

Now that you’ve broken free from the freshman meal plan, what are you supposed to eat?  Talk to your Stanford Nutritionist about how to eat healthy when eating in places like Mirrielees, or the Row.
