Home Care Advice for a Nosebleed
- Avoid Aspirin or Ibuprofen
- Apply pressure: pinch nose (soft part) for at least 5 minutes (by the
clock) and tilt head forward, if bleeding continues, hold it for 10 minutes
- Place a cold compress or an ice pack across the bridge of your nose
- Place Vaseline or any antibiotic ointment (i.e. Neosporin) in nose 2
to 3 times per day, gently, to help moisturize/heal the inside of your
nose
- Avoid nose picking, blowing or sneezing
- Increase fluid intake
- Use vaporizer in bedroom at night
