First Aid Kit
You can treat minor illnesses and injuries on your own with a personal first aid kit. You can also use it to care for more serious problems (until you can get professional help). Here is a checklist of health-related items to help you prepare for your transition to campus.
- Adhesive bandages (assorted sizes)
- Adhesive tape (one-inch wide)
- Antacid
- Antibiotic ointment
- Antihistamine (diphenhydramine hydrochloride — generic for Benadryl)
- Antiseptic wipes
- Bike helmet
- Cough drops
- Cold Pack (disposable)
- Copy of your eyewear prescription
- Cotton roll and balls
- Cotton-tipped swabs
- Decongestant (pseudoephedrine hydrochloride — generic for Sudafed)
- Elastic bandage (three-inch wide)
- Extra pair of eyeglasses and/or contact lenses
- Flashlight and extra batteries
- Gauze pads
- Health Insurance card
- Hydrocortisone cream
- Pain-relief medication (aspirin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen)
- Scissors
- Surgical masks and gloves
- Thermometer
- Tissues
- Waterless antibacterial hand gel
