Vital Savings
Vital Savings is a discount program offered by Aetna for all Stanford students and their dependents. It is not an insurance plan, but an exciting new way to receive significant discounts on a wide array of dental services, as well as vision care services. We at Vaden Health Center endorse this program as an inexpensive and convenient way to receive discounted dental care.
Through Vital Savings, you may access one of the largest dental discount networks in the nation and save an average of 30 percent* up to 50 percent** on everything from general dentistry and cleanings to root canals, crowns and orthodontia (braces). Unlike dental insurance plans, which may require traveling far from campus to see their providers, Vital Savings has network providers in the immediate area who are known to the Stanford community. There are no claims to file and no limits on how often you and your family can use the Vital Savings card.
The annual cost for you is $25; the annual cost for you and one dependent is $44; and the annual cost for you and two or more dependents is $63. To enroll, use the following procedure.
- For students without dependents
The annual cost is $25 and will appear as a fee on your tuition bill once you complete the sign-up process. Keep in mind that once you confirm your enrollment for the year, you may not cancel your enrollment, nor can any portion of the annual fee be refunded.- Enroll through Axess http://axess.stanford.edu
- For students with dependents
The annual cost for you and one dependent is $44; for you and two or more dependents, it’s $63. To join Vital Savings with your family, you must enroll yourself and your dependents through the Vital Savings website. You will need a credit card to pay the enrollment fee, which will not appear on your University bill or online bill.- Enroll through Vital Saving enrollment

Through the Vision One® Discount Program offered by Cole Managed Vision, you have access to discounts on eye care products, eye exams and LASIK eye surgery.
- Vital Savings on Fitness
Through the GlobalFit Fitness Program, you have access to special membership rates at participating fitness clubs.
- Vital Savings on Alternative Health Care
You also have access to discounts on a variety of approaches to alternative/preventive care and alternative/preventive products that maintain good health.
