Enrollment in Cardinal Care
How to enroll
You will be automatically enrolled in Cardinal Care the first quarter that you are registered for classes. You are automatically enrolled in Cardinal Care for each subsequent quarter that you’re registered for classes during your academic career at Stanford.
If you want to be covered during the summer or any other quarter when you’re not enrolled in classes, you’ll need to send your application to the Vaden Health Center Insurance Office (please see our address) prior to the start of the academic quarter.

How to enroll in Cardinal Care as an unregistered student
For students who are eligible, enrollment during unregistered quarters (including Winter, Spring and Summer Quarter) is available through the Insurance Office prior to the beginning of the unregistered quarter(s).
If you were registered for classes during at least one quarter during this academic year; and if you were enrolled in Cardinal Care for the prior quarter within this academic year, you are eligible to enroll as an unregistered student for the remaining quarters in that academic year. You may not purchase Cardinal Care as an unregistered student during Fall Quarter.
